The “Malominusinskoye Oxheart” (or Malominusinsk Bull's Heart) is an old family heirloom, indeterminate (tall-growing) variety developed through traditional selection in the village of Malaya Minusa in the Minusinsk District.
Main characteristics of the variety:
- Plant type: Indeterminate (tall-growing); the plant grows to 1.8–2 meters tall. Staking and removal of side shoots are essential (usually trained to 1–2 stems).
- Ripening time: Mid-season.
- Fruit: Large, beautifully heart-shaped, and deep pink.
- Fruit weight: Typically 300–600 g (individual fruits may be larger).
- Flavor and texture: The flesh is meaty, buttery when cut, juicy, very sweet and aromatic, with a mild, pleasant acidity.
- Uses: Ideal for eating fresh, in salads and summer platters, as well as for making homemade juices and sauces.
