Tomato "Barnaul Bull's Heart" (Barnaulskoye Bychye Serdtse) usually refers to a local (Altai) breeding reproduction or seeds of the famous "Bull's Heart" variety produced by Altai seed companies, including those based in Barnaul.
Main characteristics of the variety:
  • Bush type: Determinate (limited growth), but powerful and quite tall. In a greenhouse, it can reach 1.7–1.8 meters. Requires mandatory suckering (pruning) and reliable tying.
  • Maturity period: Mid-season or mid-late (115–130 days from the first shoots to harvest).
  • Fruit: Large, with a classic heart shape. The weight of the lower fruits on the first clusters can reach 400–600 grams, subsequent tomatoes are smaller — around 150–250 grams. The color of a ripe tomato is rich  pink.
  • Taste: Sugary on the break, fleshy, with a minimal number of seed chambers and juice. The taste is a benchmark — sweet with a light, harmonious acidity.
  • Yield: From 3–5 kg per bush in the open ground up to 8–12 kg in greenhouse conditions (with proper agricultural practices).
  • Growing features:
  • Forming: It is recommended to grow the plant strictly in 1 or 2 stems. To obtain two stems, leave a strong sucker under the first flower cluster.
