  • Tomato "Nine Hills" (Russian: Девять холмов) is a new collection, mid-season, and indeterminate (tall) tomato variety from Latvia, bred by the selector Valdis Pulins. The variety is named in honor of the town of Talsi, which is located on nine hills. Variety was obtained by crossing Sumo x Domaine De Saint Jean De Beauregard (F4 generation).
    Variety Characteristics:
    • Bush type: Indeterminate (tall), reaches 170–180 cm in a greenhouse. Requires staking (tying up) and suckering (usually trained into 1–2 stems).
    • Fruit: Flat-round and round shape, sometimes with a small, slight tip ("nose").
    • Fruit weight: From 150 to 300 grams. They tend to get smaller at the end of the season.
    • Color: Red with beautiful golden and orange stripes.
    • Flesh and taste: The flesh is red, juicy, and meaty. The taste is sweet with a pleasant savory tartness and pronounced fruity notes.
    • Yield: High.
    • Special features: The variety may exhibit some genetic segregation/unstability (in rare cases, the shape or size of the bush/fruit may slightly vary).
