Omich

30-day lowest price:
Tomato "Omich" (Омич) is an outstanding large-fruited collector's variety created in Omsk by the well-known vegetable breeder Vladimir Anderson. The variety has earned high praise among gardeners for its immense yield, resilience to harsh weather conditions, and the superb flavor of its giant fruits. It exists in two color variations: red (classic) and orange.
Main Characteristics of the Variety:
- Plant Type: Indeterminate (tall), vigorous. Grows up to 1.7–1.8 meters in a greenhouse. Requires mandatory staking and suckering (pruning); best trained into 1–2 stems.
- Maturity: Mid-early to mid-season.
- Fruit: Enormous, oblate in shape. Highly uniform — the fruits develop as perfectly round as balls. The average weight is 300–500g, with individual giants reaching up to 700–800 grams.
- Color: Bright crimson-red.
- Flesh & Flavor: Juicy, tender, "pure tomato meat" with very few seeds and a delicate skin. The flavor is excellent, classic sweet-tomato with a subtle refreshing hint of tang.
- Purpose: One of the finest salad varieties. Also ideal for making thick, sweet homemade juices and sauces. It features excellent disease resistance and robust performance in unstable climates
