Tomato "Sonyashniki" (translates to Sunflowers) is a magnificent, heavy-yielding collectible tomato variety tomatogalaxy. This variety was bred by Natalia Cassanelli. It is highly praised by tomato enthusiasts for its disease resistance, ornamental appearance, and ability to remain unaffected by weather fluctuations.
Main Characteristics of the Variety
  • Bush type: Indeterminate (tall. The vines are sturdy and thick-stemmed, growing to a height of 1.6–1.8 meters, yet they remain reasonably compac.
  • Ripening period: Mid-early or mid-season tomatogalaxy. It features a very extended fruiting period, continuing to yield until the first autumn frosts.
  • Resilience: Exceptionally good at setting fruit under stressful weather conditions (such as heat waves or sudden temperature drops). The fruits do not crack, even during prolonged rainy periods.
  • Pruning and training: It is recommended to prune the vine to 2 stems, requiring regular suckering and strong support staking tomatogalaxy. Clusters reliably develop 5–6 high-quality fruits each.
Fruit Description
  • Color and shape: The tomatoes are multi-chambered and oblate (flat-round) in shape. The exterior is beautiful and vibrant: bright yellow with distinct orange or lighter stripes running across the skin. When fully ripe, the skin takes on a lovely translucent, glossy appearance.
  • Weight: The average fruit weight is 150–250 grams, though with optimal care, larger fruits can easily scale up to 300–400 grams.
  • Taste qualities: The flesh is tender, bright lemon-yellow, sometimes featuring a faint rosy swirl in the center. The fruit is highly succulent, offering a rich, sweet flavor balanced by a harmonious, refreshing hint of acidity and a pleasant fruity aroma.
  • Usage: An exceptional salad-type tomato. It is also excellent for processing into bright, delicious juices, purees, and artisanal sauces
